Jenny McCarthy Joins "The View"

Monday morning Jenny McCarthy was named as the new permanent co-host on "The View." She is replacing one of the two empty seats left behind by Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, whom have both been regulars on the show. She is taking over the spot starting September 9. She will be a nice twist to the show as she is very opinionated and not afraid to speak her mind.

McCarthy is best known for being a Playboy playmate, her MTV game show "Singled Out" from the 90's, a few movies, an author, and one of the biggest public opponents of childhood vaccines. She is 40 years old and has one child, a son named Evan. She was also famous for dating Jim Carrey for over five years.

The news of McCarthy taking her seat on "The View" has sparked some outrage through social media. People are slamming the choice as a bad one and saying her views on vaccinations are going to spread dangerous misinformation around. However people should not base their children's health care decisions based on the expertise of a celebrity in the first place. Talk to your child's doctor and listen to professionals, not celebrities. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Over 3 million people tune in to "The View" each day and most of those viewers are woman. The simple fact is vaccinations are not going to come up in conversation every day on the show. They talk about such a wide variety of topics on the show and McCarthy will offer her opinion on most of them. She is known for being opinionated as the other ladies on the show. It will be refreshing to get a new view on some of the topics. All you can do is give her a chance and see how she fits in with the cast.
Seeing her in other shows you can see she is completely herself and not trying to impersonate anyone else. She does what she wants, says what she wants and just acts goofy at times. She's not a very self conscious type of person. I think adding her is great since Elisabeth Hasselbeck has left the show. She was one that didn't waver her opinion based on others. It will be interesting so her and see how she reacts to different topics.

Al the controversy buzzing about McCarthy being a good choice or not is only doing exactly as "The View" wants it to do, creating curiosity. They want to increase ratings, and perhaps this is one good way to do it. With so many people advocating against her it makes us all wonder how the issues will be addressed on the show. It will be interesting to tune in at least the first week or so to see how it goes! Until September 9th we will be left waiting and wondering.
